Daytime temperatures: The area around Lake Natron experiences extremely hot daytime temperatures, often reaching 30°C to 40°C (86°F to 104°F) during the day. In the hottest months, temperatures can even rise above 40°C (104°F).
Nighttime temperatures: Due to the dry air, nighttime temperatures can drop considerably, especially in the dry season. They can fall to around 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F) at night, offering some relief from the heat.

To reach Lake Natron from Arusha, Tanzania, you can drive northeast for approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles), which typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. The route passes through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering scenic views along the way. It's advisable to travel in a 4x4 vehicle, especially during the rainy season, as some sections of the road can be rough and challenging.

The best time to visit Lake Natron is during the dry season (June to October) when the weather is clear, flamingos are abundant, and roads are more accessible. If you prefer milder temperatures and don't mind occasional rain, the short rains (November to December) can also be a good option.
